Parliament visits Mpumalanga Public Order Policing Unit, 4 Feb

Mpumalanga public order policing gets assessed - Police Committee

The Portfolio Committee on Police, having assessed border control and rhino-poaching initiatives in Mpumalanga in the past two days, will this morning (Wednesday, 4 February) visit the Mpumalanga Public Order Policing Unit in Hazyview.

Committee Chairperson, Mr Francois Beukman says the visit to Hazyview is aimed at assessing the readiness of this province’s Public Order Policing unit in dealing with public protests and crowd control. The Committee will also check whether the additional equipment the unit requested from Parliament last year has been effective in maintaining public order.

The assessment at Hazyview is scheduled to start at 10 am.
