Parliament presents report on Nkandla security upgrades to National Assembly, 14 Nov

Ad hoc committee on security upgrades to present report to National Assembly next week

The Ad Hoc Committee to consider the report by President Jacob Zuma regarding the security upgrades at his Nkandla private residence met last night to consider the draft report on the matter. 

The committee received a detailed presentation of the draft report from the technical team on the observations and findings based on the four reports that are currently in front of the Committee.

The Committee also received a briefing on a legal opinion from Parliament’s Senior Legal Advisor, Adv. Ntuthuzelo Vanara on whether there was undue enrichment on the premise of probability on the side of the President.

The Committee has requested the technical team to factor in the draft report the amendments that were made yesterday for final presentation on the meeting of the Committee that has been scheduled for Tuesday, 11 November 2014.

The Committee is expected to report to the National Assembly by next week Friday, 14 November 2014.
