Parliament hosts public hearings on Infrastructure Bill, 14 to 16 Jan

Public hearings into the Infrastructure Bill commence

The Portfolio Committee on Economic Development will be hosting Public Hearings on the Infrastructure Development Bill on 14 to 16 January 2014.

The bill was tabled in parliament in November last year by Minister Ebrahim Patel. All relevant stakeholders were then invited to submit written and oral comments on the bill. The closing date for written submissions was 22 November 2013.

Oral submissions will commence tomorrow as follows:
Venue:  E249 Parliament, Cape Town
Time: 9h30 to 16h15

Various business, civil society and union representatives from organisations such as South African Local Government Association, South African National Roads Agency Limited, Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), Business Unity South Africa and SA National Council for the Blind, will be making oral submissions.
