Parliament hosts National Disability Rights Parliament, 3 Dec

Parliament will host the Inaugural Disability Rights Parliament under the theme: “Celebrating 20 years of the rights of persons with disabilities in our Democracy! Together we move South Africa forward through radical socio-economic transformation” on Wednesday 3 December at 09h00.

The occasion – which brings together representatives of all 19 national disability organisations - provides South Africans with disabilities an opportunity to engage one another across racial, gender, age, geographical and other divides on the progress we have made as a society in breaking barriers which segregate, isolate and exclude persons with disabilities.

Journalists and photographers who do not have Parliamentary media access permits and wish to cover the event must email their details to Mlindi Mpindi on mmpindi@parliament.gov.za or call him on 073 197 1315 or 021 403 2340 and copy Masego Dlula on mdlula@parliament.gov.za by 15h00 on Tuesday, 2 December 2014.

Details required are:

  • Name of media house
  • full name
  • ID or passport number.
