North West Rural, Environment and Agricultural Development hosts Female Entrepreneur Awards programme in Women's Month, 21 Aug

The MEC for Rural, Environment and Agricultural Development (READ), Manketsi Tlhape will host the 16th Female Entrepreneur Awards programme (FEA).  FEA is a joint project of READ and the National Department of Agriculture, Forestry and fisheries. The Awards are in celebration of the role that women play in the in the sectors of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

The ceremony which takes place every year in August has made a significant mark in the province and continues to inspire women to be the best in the farming business. The programme aims at recognising improved delivery, innovation and excellence in the Agricultural mainstream economy by women.It is also an instrument through which women’s enormous contributions in pushing back the frontiers of poverty can be recognized through the Food Security Programme.

This year's ceremony will also see women farmers being crowned in the categories of Best Female worker, Best Subsistence Producer, Top Entrepreneur: Smallholder, Top Entrepreneur: Processing, Top Entrepreneur: Commercial, Top Entrepreneur: Export Markets, MEC's Special Award and the overall winner.
The Awards Ceremony is scheduled to take place as follows:
