MEC for Human Settlements Public Safety and Liaison in the North West Nono Maloyi will welcome and introduce the newly appointed contractor to the Wolmaransstad community.
The MEC will among others clarify allegations that some opposition parties claim to build houses for some beneficiaries in the area. The MEC will officially hand over the project and call on communities to support the contractor during the construction period.
MEC Maloyi is also expected to appeal to the contractor to use local labour to further create employment and develop skills among community members.
Among others MEC will further put the record straight on allegations by political parties who are said to be claiming to be responsible for the constructions of delivering houses in the area.
The 914 units project is expected to start by the beginning of November at a cost of over R67 million.
The MEC therefore invites members of the media to be part of the handover, which will take place as follows:
