North West Legislature conducts public hearings on North West Bills, 3 Mar

North West Legislature’s Joint Committees to conduct public hearings on North West Tourism Board Bill, 2014; North West Parks Board Bill 2014; North West Provincial Language Bill 2014 and the North West Directorate of Entrepreneurial Development in Natural Resources Act, Repeal Bill, 2014

On Wednesday, 3 March 2015, the North West Provincial Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Education, Sports, Arts, Culture and Traditional Affairs; Portfolio Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development and Portfolio Committee on Tourism will be conducting public hearings throughout the province on the North West Tourism Board Bill, 2014; North West Provincial Language Bill 2014; the North West Parks Board Bill 2014 and North West Directorate of Entrepreneurial Development in Natural Resources Act, Repeal Bill, 2014.

The public hearings will be conducted at Letsopa Community Hall in Ottosdaal; Ventersdorp Community Hall; Tlou le Tau Tribal Hall in Ganyesa and Borolelo Community Hall in Swartruggens at 09h00.

Amongst others, the North West Tourism Board Bill, 2014 aims to provide for the establishment of the North West Tourism Board and for the management of the Board by the Board of directors of the Board and to determine the objects, powers, duties and functions of the Board.

Amongst others, the North West Parks Bard Bill, 2014 aims to provide for the establishment of the North West Parks Board and to determine the objects, powers, duties and functions of the North West Parks Board.

The North West Directorate of Entrepreneurial Development in Natural Resources Act, Repeal Bill, 2014 aims to provide for the repeal of the North West Directorate of Entrepreneurial Development in Natural Resources Act, 2003(Act no 5 of 2003) and to provide for matters connected therewith.

Amongst others, the North West Provincial Languages Bill, 2014 aims to determine the provincial official languages in the North West Province; to regulate and provide for the monitoring of the use of provincial officials languages by all organs of state in the North West Province and provide for measures aimed at the advancement of indigenous languages spoken in the North West Province.
