North West Legislature to conduct public hearings on North West Business Licensing Bill; North West Appropriation Adjustment Bill and National Credit Amendment Bill 2018

On Wednesday, 21 November 2018, the North West Provincial Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Premier, Finance, Economy and Enterprise Development will be conducting public hearings on North West Business Licensing Bill, 2018; North West Appropriation Adjustment Bill, 2018 and National Credit Amendment Bill, 2018 at Letsopa Community Hall in Ottosdal; Tswelelang Community Hall, Wolmaranstad; Christiana Town Hall and Motlhabe Community Hall near Moruleng at 10h00.

North West Business Adjustment Bill - 2018

The North West Business Licensing Bill, 2018, seeks to provide for the regulation control and licensing of businesses in the North West Province; to provide for the appointment of the North West Business Licensing Authority to provide for restrictions on businesses and to provide for the appointment and assignment of business licensing authorities to provide for matters connected therewith.

North West Appropriation Adjustment Bill, 2018

The North West Appropriation Adjustment Bill, 2018, To effect adjustments to the appropriation of money from the Provincial Revenue Fund for the requirements of the Province in respect of the 2018/19 financial year; and to provide for matters incidental thereto.

National Credit Amendment Bill,  2018

Amongst others, the National Credit Amendment Bill, 2018, seeks to amend the National Credit Act, 2005, so as to provide for debt intervention; to insert new definitions; to include the evaluation and referral of debt intervention applications as a function of the National Credit Regulator and to provide for the creation of capacity within the National Credit Regulator and logistical arrangements to execute this function and to include the consideration of a referral as a function of the Tribunal.
