North West Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs to hold a SPLUMB discussion session

North West Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs in partnership with South African Local Government Association (SALGA) and the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform will hold discussion session on the North West Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Bill (SPLUMB).

The aim of the bill is to provide a framework for spatial planning and land use management. The bill seeks to provide redress in access to land by disadvantaged communities and persons previously excluded, with an emphasis on informal settlements, former homelands areas and areas characterised by widespread poverty and deprivation.

The event will be attended by both departmental and SALGA official as well as municipal managers from all municipalities, to give inputs into the second version of the North West SPLUMB.
