North West Department of Human Settlements to identify emerging women contractors through dialogue

The Department of Human Settlements Public Safety and Liaison will convene a one day women’s summit which amongst others, is intended to promote access to economic opportunities for women in construction and make emphasis on cooperate governance and partnership with Human Settlement branch stakeholders. 

This initiative is informed by the departmental mandate to facilitate economic empowerment of women in the formerly male dominated construction industry. The MEC responsible for Human Settlements, Public Safety and Liaison, Honourable Nono Maloyi is expected to address more than 500 delegates from the length and breadth of our province.

In his address, the MEC is expected to give a keynote on how department is progressing in women empowerment on issues of construction and how is the department intend doing to sustain such empowerment. 

Young unemployed women will be part of the summit and will be empowered through the presentations that will be conducted by Human Settlements agencies and other business stakeholders.
