North West Agriculture and Rural Development hosts 3rd Animal Husbandry Symposium, 18 to 19 Nov

DARD hosting Virtual 3rd Animal Husbandry Symposium

The North West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is hosting the 3rd Animal Husbandry Symposium. The expert needs-based research and technology development services in all four districts of the North West Province is envisaged to improve agricultural production; provide innovative scientific and technical support; disseminate information on research outcomes as well as forge collaborations with various research and academic institutions on local, national and international levels on numerous research endeavours and projects.

The symposium which takes place under the theme “Climate Smart livestock Production for a sustainable future” aims to create a scientific platform to share ideas, research experiences, challenges and possible solutions, research results and outcomes, foster prospective collaborations and offer invaluable opportunities to ponder on future research projects.   

The two-day event will be hosted virtually on the Microsoft Team Platform from the 18 – 19 November 2020 and will be attended by experts from various research institutions from across the country as well as international delegates from the rest of the world including Uganda and Kenya.

Expected delegates and key speakers from institutions of higher learning include Professor Victor Mlambo of University of Mpumalanga and Dr Obert Tada of University of Limpopo.  Participation of other renowned specialists from research is also expected and those include Dr Ronald Thomas, Dr Thamsanqa Mpanza and Dr  Klaas-Jan Leeuw all from the Agricultural Research Council (ARC).
