The Eastern Cape delegates to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) are today meeting with councillors, mayors and district mayors in three different regions of the Eastern Cape. The venues for the meetings in the districts are OR District Municipal offices, Port Elizabeth City Hall Municipal offices, and the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipal offices.
The meetings will be followed by visits to various projects dogged by service delivery issues.
Programmes to be visited:
OR Tambo District:
Mthatha Central Clinic; Mqanduli RDP Housing project and Masande Agricultural Youth Co-op in Coffee Bay
Nelson Mandela Metro:
Zwide Clinic; Motherwell Police Station and Magistrate Court; and Sovuyiswa Primary Co-oo
Amathole District:
Greenfields Clinic and Mgwalana Bridge (Ngqushwa)
The projects were identified by the province following petitions received through Portfolio Committees. Permanent delegates to the NCOP are monitoring delivery in the provinces in what is known as Provincial Week programme.
