The National Commissioner, Riah Phiyega, to host South African Police Service (SAPS) National Commemoration Day

The National Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS) will host the annual SAPS Commemoration Day Service.

During the service, employees of the South African Police Service who died in the execution of their duties between 1 April 2012 and 31 March 2013, will be honoured and remembered by the SAPS management, their loved ones and colleagues.

The event will be attended by the President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency Mr JG Zuma, the Minister of Police, Mr N Mthethwa, Deputy Minister of Police, Ms M Sotyu and the National Commissioner of the Police, General R Phiyega, who will, together with the next of kin, friends and colleagues of our fallen heroes, lay wreaths to commemorate them.
