Natalspruit Hospital in Ekurhuleni will this Wednesday, 4 December receive a new state of the art ultrasound machine which will assist in the reduction of maternal and neonatal death.
This machine, which will ensure an improvement in service delivery, will among other things assist doctors and nurses to diagnose foetal abnormalities; obtain exact date of expected delivery as well as identify any complications that might occur during birth.
The hospital delivers between 800 and 900 babies a month.
Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Gwen Ramokgopa will accept the machine on behalf of the hospital and she will also deliver a keynote address.
