The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Minister Zizi Kodwa invites the media to the Momentum Proteas Womens’ Cricket Team Recognition Luncheon taking place on Tuesday, 28 March 2023 at the Melrose Arch, in Rosebank.
Hosted in partnership with the Cricket South Africa (CSA), the luncheon seeks to recognise the South African women’s cricket team for their gallant and spirited performance during the 8th edition of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup that was held in South Africa for the first time.
The Momentum Proteas women’s team narrowly lost to the perennial defending champion, Australian women’s team in the final at Newlands, Cape Town on 26 February 2023
Following their brave display and the many records set at the 2023 T20 Women’s Cricket World Cup which ended up with them becoming runners-up, Minister Zizi Kodwa will bestow Awards and incentives to the Momentum Proteas women’s cricket team for their performance.
