Public Works Minister Thulas W Nxesi, MP, will be visiting the newly completed and operational Diepsloot Police Station, in Johannesburg on Wednesday, 2 December 2015. Members of the media are invited to attend the quality control inspection and imbizo on the day.

The purpose of the visit by the Minister is to conduct quality control inspection at the facility. This forms part of a quality inspection for the recently completed Police Station which costs R 105 700 131 and to highlight Public Works Department’s contribution towards nation building by providing essential infrastructure which serves the needs of the community.

The Diepsloot community expanded from an informal settlement to a township more than 20 years back which resulted in high crime levels hence Public Works built the facility to enable the Police to address and alleviate the scourge of crime in the area.
