Minister Ndabeni- Abrahams to launch commemorative stamps in honour of poets and music legends
Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies Stella Ndabeni Abrahams will on Tuesday officially launch the commemorative stamps in honour of Hugh Masekela, Phillip Tabane and Willie Keorapetse Kgositsile. The decision to honor these legends was approved by Cabinet in 2018.
These commemorative stamps themed “Poets of Words and Sounds” are a recognition and celebration of the significant role that these artist have played through poetry and music during the liberation struggle of the country and democratic dispensation. The launch of these commemorative stamps comes at the time when the country is celebrating heritage month. These stamps were designed by the South African Post Office.
