Minister Siyabonga Cwele and Deputy Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams address 2017 AfricaCom Conference, 7 and 8 Nov

Telecommunications and Postal Services Minister Dr Siyabonga Cwele and Deputy Minister Ms Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams will address the AfricaCom Conference taking place in Cape Town from 7 – 9 November 2017.

The Minister and the Deputy Minister will outline Government positions on a range of telecoms and technology industry issues with the delegates of the conference that include industry players from the continent and other parts of the world.

The presentation will focus on the value of ICT and digital connectivity under the theme, “Visions for Africa: ensuring a connected Africa through satellite communication.” This will include an analysis of the satellite communication policy interventions, regulatory framework, legislation and collective efforts which are required to build an information society and knowledge economy in Africa, in order to achieve the requisite socio-economic development and modernised standards of living.

The Deputy Minister will further engage with relevant stakeholders on the importance of satellite communications and possible collaborations in this regard.
