Minister Pandor to address AgriSA National Conference at St Georges Hotel, Irene

Home Affairs Minister, Naledi Pandor, will tomorrow, Thursday, 10 October 2013 at 10h30, address the National conference of the AgriSA, scheduled to take place at St Georges Hotel, Irene in Pretoria.

AgriSA is a federation of agricultural organisations with 24 commodity organisations and nine provincial agricultural unions as affiliates, representative of a diverse grouping of individual farmers.

Minister Pandor is expected to speak under the “The need to cooperate with the “National Population Registration Campaign”.

Launched in 2012 by President Zuma, the National Population Registration (NPR) campaign encourages all the citizens of the country to be registered in terms of relevant legislation.

In particular, the campaign seeks to achieve the following objectives;
a. eradicate the Late Registration of Birth and discontinue the process in its current form and replace it with a more stringent one;
b. ensure that parents register child birth within 30 days of delivery;
c. ensure that all South Africans turning (16 years) apply for Identity Documents immediately;
d. promote communities of peace and diversity;
e. promote immigration for economic development among communities; and
f. establish and consolidate municipality/Home Affairs Stakeholder Forums as a service delivery, monitoring and evaluation mechanism for Departmental services.
