Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr Blade Nzimande will on Tuesday, 17 September, deliver a keynote address at the launch of Umfundazwe – the Mhlontlo Local Municipality Trust Fund in Tsolo.
The Trust Fund is aimed at benefitting the youth of Mhlontlo Municipality who, because of access to education will acquire skills and plough back to their communities. This initiative speaks directly to President Jacob Zuma and Cabinet’s vision of supporting youth to be skilled and therefore empowered to support an inclusive growth path.
This endeavor responds to the consensus that more than ever before, the country needs graduates who will help run projects of developments and ensuring that the needs of its citizens are reached; especially those living in rural areas. The area of Mhlontlo has produced amicable leaders in various sectors from high profiled judges to principled public servants.
The Old Mutual Education Trust is contributing the seed money to establish the Mhlontlo Municipality Education Trust and will also sponsor the event.
