Minister Nathi Mthethwa launches Freedom Month programme, 5 Apr

The Minister of Arts and Culture Mr Nathi Mthethwa invites members of the media to the Launch of the Freedom Month that will taking place at National Library of South Africa in Pretoria on the 5th of April 2018 at 10h00.

 The Minister will unpack a month long programme of Freedom Month building up to the 27th of April as it is a national public holiday in South Africa which serves as a commemoration of our country’s first democratic post-Apartheid elections, held in 1994.

On this day, Mzansi started the process of walking away from its dark, colonialist past and braking away from the shackles of Apartheid oppression by electing Nelson Mandela through a free and fair voting process.
