Minister Mthethwa to host the Vice Premier of State Council of the People`s Republic of China to solidify relations in key areas of cooperations, Cape Town
The National Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, Minister Nathi Mthethwa will on Thursday, 16 February 2023 host the People`s Republic of China, Vice Premier of State Council, H.E. Mme. Sun Chunlan Ms for the 3rd SA-China High Level People-to-People Exchange Mechanism (PPEM). This high-level session will take place at the Mount Nelson Hotel, in Cape Town, Western Cape.
Hosted in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy to South Africa, the 3rd SA-China High Level PPEM is aimed at deepening mutual understanding between South Africa and China, and to enhance people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in the areas of culture, education, international relations, communication, health, Science and technology, sport, tourism, women affairs, and youth.
The 3rd PPEM meeting takes place following the two states visits on July 14 and September
2 in 2018 wherein President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa and President Xi Jinping strengthened bilateral ties between the two countries particularly people-to-people exchanges.
Minister Mthethwa and H.E. Mme. Sun Chunlan, who is also the Co-chairperson of the PPEM will also sign the bilateral to solidify relations between identified areas of cooperation.
