The Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor, will release the results of the latest national survey of research and experimental development (R&D survey) at a media briefing scheduled as follows:

The South African government is aiming to achieve a gross expenditure on research and development equal to 1, 5% of GDP by 2019. This is important if South Africa is to be globally competitive. The annual R&D survey helps to track how South Africa is performing against this target.
