Minister Naledi Pandor hosts Imbizo on Science and Technology, 15 Nov

The Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor, accompanied by Deputy Minister Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi, will interact with the community of Ulundi in KwaZulu-Natal during an imbizo to raise awareness about science and technology. An imbizo is one of government's platforms to deepen communication and involve citizens in all aspects of public life that affect them directly. It has since developed into a popular and trusted platform for unmediated communication between government and the public.

Alongside the imbizo, the Department of Science and Technology (DST) has organised an exhibition on careers in science, including practical demonstrations of what science means in daily life. Also supporting this initiative will be the Departments of Basic Education, Higher Education and Training, Social Development and Home Affairs, which will also be offering services to the community, such as processing applications for new identity documents and social grants.

The Deputy Ministers of Higher Education and Training and Telecommunications and Postal Services, Mduduzi Manana and Prof. Hlengiwe Mkhize, are expected to attend, as is the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Education, Peggy Nkonyeni.
