Minister Motshekga to witness signing of pledge by 2013 NSC examinations candidates

With less than two weeks to go to the start of the 2013 National Senior Certificate examinations, the Department of Basic Education will on Friday 18 October 2013 bare witness as the 2013 NSC examination candidates sign a pledge ahead of the 2013 examinations.

The pledge will assist the department in the control of examinations and the curbing of irregularities in an attempt to adopt a proactive approach to the administration of examinations. In this pledge the candidates commit to ensuring honesty and strict compliance to the Code of Conduct that is required of all candidates writing the National Senior Certificate examinations.

The 576 490 fulltime and 130 646 part-time candidates will read and sign this pledge in unison and will form part of the orientation sessions that every candidate is provided with as part of orientation ahead of the Examinations. 

Members of the media are invited to attend the signing of the pledge which will be witnessed by Minister Motshekga
