Minister Mondli Gungubele hosts National Development Plan Public Lecture, 7 Mar

Minister in the Presidency to host the NDP public lecture under the theme: “Reclaiming and building a capable, ethical, professional and developmental state”

Minister in the Presidency, Hon. Mondli Gungubele, will host the National Development Plan (NDP) Public Lecture under the theme “Reclaiming and Building a Capable, Ethical, Professional and Developmental State” on 7 March 2022.

Since 2014, the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) and the National Planning Commission (NPC) have been convening Public Lectures annually to reflect on the implementation of NDP Vision 2030. This will be the sixth annual NDP lecture as it could not be held last year due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year’s lecture will reflect on the progress and interventions that the government has and continues to make in the implementation of Priority 1 of the Medium-Term Strategic Framework (MTSF), “Building a Capable, Ethical and Developmental state”.

The lecture will bring together experts from the public service, academia and the media to critically and candidly discuss government’s progress or lack of it in pursuit of Priority 1. The focus of this specific lecture will be on three aspects:

[1] Ethics, Accountability and oversight
[2] Capacity and Skills Development
[3] Interdepartmental Co-ordination

The media are invited as follows:
