Minister Michael Masutha delivers memorial lecture in honour of Dullah Omar, 19 Aug

The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Advocate Michael Masutha, MP, will deliver a memorial lecture at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in honour of the late Minister of Justice Dullah Omar on Wednesday, 19 August 2015.

This 10th Dullah Omar Memorial Lecture will coincide with the UWC Community Law Centre’s 25th Anniversary and launch of its new name; Dullah Omar Institute for Constitutional Law, Governance and Human Rights.

Dullah Omar is the struggle stalwart; he was the first Minister of Justice in the new democratic dispensation. He played a major role in ensuring that South Africa is a democratic country with just laws that it is today.

This is part of a series of public lectures that the Minister will embark upon to educate the university students and other stakeholders on issues around Access to Justice and the department’s programmes.
