Minister Mashatile to reveal the artist line-up for the Mandela Sport and Culture Day

The Department of Arts and Culture together with Sports and Recreation of South Africa invite you to the announcement of artists for the Nelson Mandela Sport and Culture Day.

Minister of Arts and Culture, Mr Paul Mashatile, will announce the much awaited artist line-up for the inaugural Nelson Mandela Sport and Culture Day.

The announcement will take place as follows:
Date: 12 August  2013
Time: 10h00 to 12h00
Venue: Emoyeni, 15 Jubilee Road, Parktown, Johannesburg

This concert consisting of both local and international artists will follow at 18h50 immediately after the soccer and rugby matches. The organisers envisage the concert as a huge cultural extravaganza in honour of Tata Nelson Mandela.

For the first time ever, South Africa's national soccer and rugby teams will play international friendlies at the FNB Stadium on 17 August 2013. Bafana Bafana will take on Burkina Faso, while the Springboks play Argentina. The matches will be preceded by a match between South Africa's soccer legends.

The proceeds from the Nelson Mandela Sport and Culture Day will go towards building the Nelson Mandela children's hospital in Gauteng. Let’s pledge our support!

Tickets are on sale at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets across South Africa.
