Minister Lindiwe Zulu to address women cooperatives in Klerksdorp

Minister of Small Business Development, Lindiwe Zulu, will address the Inaugural Women Cooperative Indaba on Friday, 5 September 2014 in Klerksdorp, North West.

The Indaba starts of Thursday, 4 September and ends on Friday, 5 September. Minister Zulu will use this Inaugural Women Cooperative Indaba to articulate her Department’s mandate, vision and role in promoting and supporting small businesses and co-operatives.

The Indaba, which will be held under the theme: Women transforming the economy through cooperatives”, seeks to advance and strengthen women cooperative businesses. The overall objective is to position women cooperatives to become economic leaders and to inculcate an entrepreneurial culture among women.

On Friday, members of cooperatives will engage in direct dialogue with Minister Zulu during the day. Through this engagement, women will be exposed to business opportunities as well as various forms of support and funding sources. Later in the evening (from 18h00), Minister Zulu will deliver a keynote address at a Gala Dinner.

The Executive Mayor of Kenneth Kaunda Municipality, Boitumelo Moloi, North West MECs and business executives are expected to attend.
