Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Jeff Radebe will preside over a sponsorship handover by Liquid Telecom to the National Development Plan (NDP) Youth Brand Ambassadors.
The Department of Planning Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) has initiated the NDP Youth Ambassador Programme to mobilise young people in our country to be active role players in economic growth. The programme, which was launched by Minister Radebe on 28 September 2017, is in line with government commitment to transform the economic landscape and make more inclusive and address the challenge of poverty, unemployment and inequality.
As part of the programme, 37 most outstanding young innovators, investors, entrepreneurs and career trailblazers have been selected to form part of the programme. These young people all have a practical idea that has the potential to grow the economy and contribute in reducing poverty, unemployment and inequality.
Minister Radebe and the ambassadors met with captains of industry on 1 September 2017, which included Liquid Telecom, to introduce the NDP Youth Brand Ambassador Programme to the business sector and foster a strong relationship on youth entrepreneurship.
Government invite more business organisations to support the identified ambassadors and channel then to contribute in growing the country’s economy.
