Minister Grant and Metrorail regional manager to tour Vlaeberg Level Crossing Elimination Project, 24 Oct

Tomorrow morning, Minister of Transport and Public Works, Donald Grant, and Metrorail Regional Manager Richard Walker will tour the site of the Vlaeberg level crossing elimination project as part of October Transport Month. This project is a partnership between the Western Cape Government and PRASA, as part of our continued efforts to make level crossings safer and to lessen the frequency of incidents and serious injuries.

Once this project is complete, a total of 8 level crossings, of the 40 in the province, will be eliminated with levels of safety increased exponentially.

Minister Grant, Regional Manager Walker, and the construction team will be on site to provide details on the project, as well as conduct a tour of the current road over rail bridge construction.

Media are invited and welcome to attend. There will be opportunity for photographs and interviews. Please indicate if you will be in attendance so that the necessary arrangements can be made.
