Minister Fikile Mbalula launches Operation Operation Fiela II, 23 Jan

South African Minister of Police, Fikile Mbalula accompanied by other members of Justice, Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) Cluster will on Tuesday 23, January 2018 launch Operation Fiela II.

Operation Fiela (which means ‘sweep’ in Sesotho) is a joint operation by law enforcement agencies which includes South African Police Service (SAPS), Home Affairs, Labour, SARS, NPA, Metro Police, Agriculture, Defence, Home Affairs, Justice and Correctional Services and all other institutions that are mandated to enforce the law.

Minister Mbalula will outline how Operation Fiela 2 will pick up from where Operation Fiela 1 left off in implementing the National Development Plan’s vision 2030, to ensure that ‘all people living in South Africa are and feel safe at home, at school and at work. They enjoy community life without fear. Women walk freely in the street and children play safely outside’.
