Minister Blade Nzimande delivers 2018/19 Transport budget vote, 18 May

The Minister of Transport, Dr Blade Nzimande will table the Department’s Budget for 2018 in the Old National Assembly Chamber, Cape Town on Friday, 18 May under the theme “Transport, together moving South Africa into a new dawn”.

The Minister will be joined during the tabling, by the Deputy Minister of Transport Ms. Sindisiwe Chikunga, MECs for Roads and Transport and Community Safety and Liaison, Board Chairpersons and CEOs of transport entities as well as key stakeholders in the transport sector.

As part of the Budget Speech, Minister Nzimande will highlight the achievements and progress made by the Department in carrying out its mandate, will give an analysis and a review of transport policies and programmes to date and going forward across all modes and also the challenges experienced in the transport sector.

Prior to the Budget Vote tabling, Minister Nzimande will brief members of the media highlighting, among others, plans the Department is putting in place to turn around the operations of its state-owned entities and the Department.
