Minister Blade Nzimande briefs media on Higher Education, Science and Innovation sector’s response to Coronavirus Covid-19 lockdown alert level 2, 26 Aug

Minister Nzimande to hold a media briefing on the implications and plans of the Department of Higher Education, Science and Innovation in response to lockdown alert level 2 to the Post School Education and Training Sector

The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Dr Blade Nzimande, has concluded the sector’s consultations with major stakeholders following the announcement of the Lockdown Alert Level 2 by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Saturday 15th August 2020.

Minister Nzimande previously announced the phased return of student to campuses and residences at both universities and colleges in various lockdown alert levels.

Minister Nzimande uses these consultations as platforms to brief the entire post school education and training sector on progress and proposed solutions to the challenges that might have been experienced by the sector in implementing the sector’s COVID-19 plans.

Part of the Minister’s consultation will include the National Command Council and Cabinet.

These consultations will culminate into the Minister issuing a public statement through a media briefing that will be held as follows:
