The Minister of Energy, Mr Ben Martins invites members of the media to attend and cover the department’s round table discussion with executive women in the energy sector as part of the Women’s day celebration.
The purpose of this engagement is to discuss opportunities of women in the energy sector and the lesson learnt from other sectors. Last year during the Liquid Fuel’s Charter media briefing in Midrand, the Department of Energy expressed its anxiety on the absence of black women as executives in the energy sector particularly in the fuel industry.
The Minister of Energy will be joined by Deputy Minister of Energy, Ms Barbara Thomson; Deputy Minister of Transport, Ms S Chikunga; Ms H Bogopane-Zulu; Deputy Minister of Women, Children and People with Disabilities, Director-General of Energy; Ms Nelisiwe Magubane and Senior Members of the Department of Energy and Central Energy Fund.
