Meeting between Lesotho Correctional Services and South African Correctional Services

Meeting between Lesotho Correctional Services and South African Correctional Services Acting National Commissioner Ms Nontsikelelo Jolingana will meet with Commissioner of Lesotho, Mr Napo Sefali to recommit and map a way-forward
in ensuring that the Memorandum of understanding (MoU)between South Africa and Lesotho is implemented.

In April 2001, the Republic of South Africa and the Kingdom of Lesotho entered into a Joint Bilateral Commission of Cooperation (JBCC) to promote economic integration. JBCC forms part of one of the principles that guide South African Foreign Policy of enhancing the African Agenda.

Both countries, South Africa and Lesotho had several bilateral fruitful meetings and exchange visits since 2003.

The relationship between the South African Correctional Services and Lesotho Correctional Service was formalised on 19 June 2007 when the two countries entered into a Memorandum of Understanding.
