MECs Ntombikayise Sibhidla-Saphetha and Peggy Nkonyeni visit poor performing schools, 24 Feb

Government is keeping a watchful eye on the schools that obtained poor matric results last year.

The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation, Ntombikayise Sibhidla-Saphetha and the MEC for Education, Peggy Nkonyeni will be visiting three schools in the Ilembe District to monitor their functionality and hand over study material and sport equipment.

The schools visits at Ntshelenkosi High School in Stanger, Mangete Primary and KwaVusumuzi High School in Mandeni will culminate in a stakeholders meeting where a plan to assist poor performing schools in the district will be unveiled. 

Ilembe was one of the worst performing district during last year’s Matric exams. 

The event will take place as follows:

Date: Tuesday, 24 February 2015
Time: 07h00; 09h00 Stakeholder meeting at Sibusisiwe Hall in Mandeni (Sundumbili).
Venue: Tshelenkosi High School in Stanger, then proceed to the other two schools.
