The MEC for Finance in KwaZulu-Natal, Mr Ravi Pillay, will on Friday, 21 February 2020, donate sewing machines to Women Co-operatives in eShowe (uMlalazi Municipality).
Local women established these co-operatives to generate employment for themselves in Wards 11 and 12.
The Provincial Treasury will donate over 27 sewing machines, including industrial and overlock machines to ensure that the co-operatives have required equipment to produce quality products.
After visiting the Co-operative, MEC Pillay will then address a community event in a bid to encourage members of the public to start own businesses and Co-operatives in order to alleviate poverty and generate job opportunities.
