MEC Qedani Mahlangu commemorates World AIDS Day at Beyers Naude Square, 1 Dec

Gauteng MEC for Health Qedani Mahlangu will on Monday, 1 December 2014 commemorate World Aids Day at Beyers Naude Square, Johannesburg.                                                 

Under the theme Zero stigma and discrimination, the event will focus on ways to alleviate the stigma of HIV and AIDS and to work towards the pledge of a world without AIDS.

The event also aims at creating awareness around the need for care and support to AIDS patients and the affected families and to inform the community about prevention, treatment, care and support services available for people living with the disease.

Health care workers will be also be distributing condoms and educational materials such as pamphlets and stickers.

Gauteng Premier, David Makhura will deliver a keynote address at the event.
