MEC Qedani Mahlangu addresses 20th Anniversary celebrations of Soul City Institute, 4 Dec

The Gauteng Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu will address the 20th Anniversary celebrations of the Soul City Institute. The MEC’s address will focus on the impact of health communication in health outcomes.

This trailblazing edutainment series, Soul City, celebrates 20 years of positively impacting social and behavioural change. It has revolutionised television – proving you can change attitudes about HIV, unprotected sex and alcohol abuse while keeping your audience glued to the box.

This multi-award winning series, which debuted on SABC1 in 1994, the longest running prime time drama series in the country, and the flagship television programme for the Soul City Institute for Health and Development Communication (Soul City Institute).

Over the years, the Soul City Institute has succeeded in reaching over 79% of the South African population through a variety of pioneering media and campaign interventions on a wide range of health and development topics.
