Community of Tarlton to receive a new state of the art library

The community of Tarlton in the Westrand will soon be in a better position to make great strides in achieving social transformation and development, as MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Ms Molebatsi Bopape will hand over the new state of the art modular library to the community on Tuesday, 3 March 2015.

As one of many initiatives of provincial government aimed at building on the successes of Gauteng, the multi-million rand library seeks to drastically improving the socio-economic conditions of the area through education, access to resources and inculcating the culture of reading and learning for the community’s youth.  

Over the past two years, Gauteng has built numerous new libraries across the province, which empowers communities by making an impact in their daily lives.
