North West Parks boards to sign Land Incorporation Agreement with Kokame Communal Property Associations
MEC Manketsi Tlhape of North West Department of Rural, Environment and Agricultural Development will on Friday, 14 September 2018 officiate the signing of Land Incorporation Agreement between the North West Parks Board and the Kokame Communal Property Association (KCPA).
The ceremony marks the beginning of a long term business relationship with the Kokame Communal Property Association who will be incorporating their 3 164ha land into Madikwe Game Reserve.
The incorporated land is part of Parks Board’s Expansion and Development Programme that seek to incorporate privately owned land into the Board reserves to expand the protected areas network deemed to be one of the Province’s milestone of changing the face of wild life economy and developing communities at large.
The land was awarded to the Kokame Communal Property Association through land restitution programme of the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform. Properties to be incorporated are farm Brakfontein 132 KP portions 0,1 and 3 together with the farm Droogedal 120 KP portions 1 and 3.
The signing of this agreement signals a partnership between government, communities and private sector in creation of much needed jobs, thereby alleviating poverty and restoring dignity of the people who were once dispossessed.
