Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Dr Ismail Vadi will on Monday, 1 December 2014, host a Road Safety Think Tank seminar at Emoyeni Conference Centre.
The seminar will discuss and develop strategic objectives, programmes and targets that will lead to the development of Provincial Road Safety Strategy.
The summit will be guided by amongst others, the following objectives:
- Formulating a five year program to implement that strategy including an approach to institutional capacity building and investment road safety.
- Lead and coordinate province-wide road safety activities, in cooperation with the Gauteng Department of Community Safety;
- Establishing a long term road safety plan
- Setting measurable long term and mid-term road safety targets
- Measuring the impact of road safety initiatives
- Monitoring and enforcing safety plans
