Eastern Cape MEC for Human Settlements and Chairperson of the Cabinet Social Transformation Cluster, Ms Helen Sauls-August will be visiting a number of struggling schools in the Nelson Mandela Metro.
The purpose of the visits is to assess state of readiness for the 2015 academic year. Some of the schools to be visited got lower matric pass rates in 2014 even below the 30% overall school pass rate.
During the visit, she will address the following issues:
- School drop outs at lower grades
- Learner migration to other schools
- Overcrowding in Classrooms
