MEC Grant and Metrorail Regional Manager to launch High Mast Lighting Project at Eikenfontein Station

Tomorrow morning, MEC of Transport and Public Works, Donald Grant, and the Regional Manager for Metrorail, Richard Walker, will be initiating the high mast lighting at the Eikenfontein train station. The high mast lighting is part of a joint initiative launched last year, in line with our ongoing efforts to improve safety at key stations in Area Central.

The project is funded by the Department of Transport and Public Works, to the value of R4 million, and included the initial roll out of 25 scrambler bikes, and now the initiation of high mast lighting at Eikenfontein and Van der Stel stations.

The MEC and the Regional Manager will be providing details on the project focused on addressing safety concerns at Metrorail stations.

All media are invited and welcome to attend. There will be opportunity for interviews and photographs. Please indicate if you will be in attendance.
