Safely home to launch anti drinking and walking campaign ahead of holiday season
With the Holiday Season fast approaching, and the provincial death toll standing at over 1,100 killed so far in 2014, Safely Home will be embarking on a multi-media campaign highlighting the dangers associated with drinking and road use. The MEC of Transport and Public Works, Donald Grant, and Prof Sebastian van As, Head of Trauma at Red Cross Children’s Hospital and Chair of Childsafe, invite you to attend a short road safety workshop, themed “Alcohol, Walking and Driving: A Deadly Combination”, focussed on the deadly effects of road use after drinking. Details of the campaign will be announced at the workshop that will be attended by our various road safety partners with the common goal or making our roads a safer place.
Media are invited and welcome to attend. There will be opportunity for photographs and interviews with presenters at the workshop. Please indicate via email if you will be in attendance.
