MEC Debbie Schäfer demonstrates Phase 1 of new eCatalogue System, 27 Nov

MEC Schäfer invites developers to register with the new Western Cape Education Department eCatalogue System

The Western Cape Government has identified eLearning as a key strategic priority to improve the quality of education in the province. Schools are central to the provincial government’s plans to introduce broadband connectivity across the province.

Tomorrow, Thursday 27 November 2014, MEC Schäfer will hold a press conference to demonstrate Phase 1 of a new eCatalogue System and invite developers of digital education resources to join the department as it expands access to eLearning in the province. This will be introduced to schools together with the rollout of broadband, to schools in 2015.

The facility is live and we have the pleasure of inviting suppliers to participate in this important project. The eCatalogue will provide the very latest in digital education resources for educators and learners.

Tomorrow, MEC Schäfer will demonstrate how developers will be able to classify their resources by grade and subject, and to indicate whether they are CAPS aligned, among other features.

All media are invited and welcome to attend.
