MEC Butana Komphela donates school uniforms, 6 Mar

The MEC for the Department of Police, Roads and Transport, Honourable Butana Komphela, will be donating school uniforms to 342 needy kids of the Anton Lembede Primary School in Parys on 6 March 2015 as part of the Department’s social responsibility programme. Uniforms will also be given to 1 076 pupils at Reaitumela Primary School in Kroonstad.

Education is one of the first priorities of the current government; hence the Department embarks on this venture in support of families that cannot afford to buy their kids school uniforms. With its support, the Department is aiming at encouraging pupils to go to school and have a sense of belonging without feeling ashamed towards those whose families can afford to buy their kids the necessary school attire.

The Department would like to make a plea to those who can afford it to make a difference in a needy child's life. MEC Butana Komphela will be joined by MEC for Education in the Free State, Honourable Tate Makgoe, the Executive Mayor of the Fezile Dabi District Municipality, Cllr. Moshodi, and other dignitaries from other Departments.

Members of the media are invited.
