KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Finance, Mrs Belinda Scott, will table the KZN Adjustments Budget at the Legislature in Pietermaritzburg on Thursday, 23 November 2017.
The Adjustments Budget will, amongst things, address current spending pressures that government is facing; improve service delivery; bolster infrastructure development initiatives; enhance clean governance; and improve the lives of the people in KwaZulu-Natal. The MEC’s speech will be expected to give a clear picture of the province’s fiscal position during this time of the financial year.
The speech comes when the province is still dealing with the damage caused by the recent floods that caused huge damage to infrastructure in the coastal areas of KZN.
The funding of the payment of iziNduna is expected to feature in the MEC’s speech as this issue relates to the budget of the province.
MEC Scott will pronounce government’s position on under-expenditure, over-expenditure, failure to plan, fraud and corruption, and cost-cutting measures.
