Gauteng Finance MEC Barbara Creecy will present the 2015/16 Gauteng Provincial Budget to the Legislature next week Tuesday, 3 March 2015.
The budget will provide a detailed breakdown of how the Gauteng Provincial Government will use available resources to fund key priorities in the next financial year.

Media lock-up session
The media will be given early access to documents in a Lock-up Session under strict surveillance in order to facilitate a thorough coverage of the Budget. The information contained in these documents will be under strict embargo until the MEC begins speaking in the House.
Details of the lock-up session are as follows:

Venue: Gauteng Provincial Legislature, (Auditorium, 1st floor);
Time: 07h30 to 10h00
The MEC will hold a Media Briefing on the Budget inside the Lock-up Session from 09h00 to 09h45 giving the media highlights of the Budget and respond to questions. The session will also be attended by the Members of the Finance Portfolio Committee.
Lock-Up Guidelines: All electronic devices that can send out any form of communication are to be temporarily held by security personnel until the end of the session. No attendees will be allowed to leave the Lock-up Session without supervision. The lock-up ends at 10h00 and therefore all media releases/alerts about the Budget are embargoed until then.
